--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
nog een nabrander ( ) van firetec:
ik had de vraag gesteld of de brandblussers kunnen bevriezen, dit is het antwoord wat ik kreeg:
" Some details from Firetec. Remember these are ambient temps, so not contact with surface ie exhaust temps.
Reacton R 80 (red) plastic tube: ( Deze krijgen wij)
Max ambient temp: 75 C
Min temp exposure:
with dry powder: - 30C
with just AFFF foam: -10C
with AFFF + Freezol: -20C or lower if customer specifies.
n.b. the plastic tube itself is not damaged by frost. It becomes harder but being plastic can withstand the expansion of water as it turns into ice. When the water inside is frozen solid don’t bend the tube! The aluminium cylinders are not damaged by ice as aluminum is also slightly plastic.
vraag:
So are our systems filled with "standard" foam and is it advised to prevent them from being lower than - 10 c ?
answer:
Yes they are the 'standard' foam, and its advised not to handle them below -10, but no damage is incurred if they do freeze when fitted. And once fitted, when the engine is used, it will increase the engine bay temp's so it would thaw out anyway.
vervolgens een aanbod om voor 5 gbp ex btw antivries toe te voegn voor -20 c
Reply regarding freezing temps.
"The additive is Freezol. This is especially name for AFFF FIRE extinguishers. Freezol itself is inflammable !!! So we have to put in extra AFFF to overcome the Freezol !!!
Net result: add Ł5.00 for T2 size cylinder."
That would be Ł5 plus VAT at 17.5% if anyone wants a custom mix in the bottle.
Als er iemand is die dit extra wil dient men per ommegaande te reageren, morgen voor middeernacht niets gehoord blijft de specificatie zonder antivries (omgereklnd komt het op 7,50 euro extra wat betaald kan worden bij afhalen.)
